Wood Artisan Dean Santner
Since 1969, Wood Artisan Dean Santner has been recognized for his original work in the fields of art furniture, high-quality craft fabrication, component furniture, ergonomic desk environments, and unique handcrafted woodworking design.
During his career Dean has been the recipient of various awards, including the Outstanding American Craftsman Award, Alameda CA Manufacturer of the Year, the Mead Presentation Award, American Design in Paris 2021 and numerous Best of Show Awards. Dean Santner has had a wide variety of his wood designs featured in galleries and juried art/craft exhibitions around the world.
Dean's woodwork is represented in the Historical Collection of the Oakland Museum of California, the San Francisco Collection and the Ranch Collection of the President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan.
Our DSD Woodshop
Always being improved, yet never quite finished, our DSD woodshop is equipped with a refined collection of dedicated equipment and specialized tooling dating back to 1969. Classic industrial equipment, rebuilt and fine-tuned to our specifications provide us with a safe and efficient environment to create artisan woodcraft. At this point working in our personally tailored shop is like working with extra hands.
We are also fortunate to be located on a scenic hilltop in California's Gold Country. The pleasant mountain views and reasonable year-round weather help compensate for the long work hours that seem to be baked into our cake.
