Custom Component Furniture

 

  I learned the value of adjustable component furniture when I was selling at craft shows and wherever else I was allowed to show my custom woodworking products. Necessarily, I needed displays that would accommodate a variety of challenging situations. I even had a San Francisco street display that would tuck together when inspectors arrived to check the size. Some of my early component furniture work from the 1970's was shown at the Edelsberg Gallery 2021 "American Design Show" in Paris.

 

  Building adjustable furniture for individualized usefulness, naturally led to designing ergonomic furniture for comfort and productivity, as personal computers landed on most of our desks. The ergonomic study of medicine, physics, biomechanics, anthropometry, kinesiology, psychology, engineering, statistics, physical therapy and occupational therapy became my passion. My development of advanced ergonomic office furniture and accessories continues for business furniture manufacturers.
